Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Yo Hwan Lim (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Optimus Prime (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Optimus Prime enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Yo Hwan Lim!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Optimus Prime!
The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Francis DeMontford and Hugh Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Prime staying out of range there.
Prime takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Prime lands a glancing blow to the side of Lim's head.


It looks like Yo Hwan Lim has been cut.
Lim lands with a hook. Prime tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Prime throws a series of punches but Lim avoids them all with ease.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Prime, as that shot connected.
Prime walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Prime throws a right and a left that Lim avoids nicely.
It looked like Lim wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Prime throws a looping overhand right but Lim ducks down to avoid it.
Lim looks to land a combination but Prime avoids it well.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Lim shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Lim showed some decent athleticism there.
Lim keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.

Lim wants to work for an arm triangle but Prime is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Prime blocking the ground and pound attempt from Lim.
Prime is pressing down on Lim's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Lim wanted to stand there but Prime had control of the position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Lim missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Prime controls Lim momentarily but Lim frees himself.
Prime throws some sloppy strikes off his back.

Prime looking for a guillotine here but Lim defends easily.

Connects with an elbow from the bottom, proving to the judges that he's still active off his back.
Lim wants to control from the top but Prime keeps moving.
Prime wants to sweep but no luck.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Lim looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
Prime throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
Prime lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Prime won't allow Lim to sweep him here.
Lim trying to keep a closed guard but Prime is proving a slippery customer.
Lim throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
Prime postures up in Lim's guard and throws a big left but Lim blocks it.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Prime accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Lim looking to control but Prime passes into half guard.
Prime thows a huge punch but Lim dodges it nicely.

Prime is keen to just control but Lim is a slippery customer.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Prime working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.

Lim tries to get to full guard but Prime has control of the leg.

Prime is looking to take a break and control but Lim is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Lim is trying to control but can't.

Prime is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Lim sees it coming and defends easily.
Lim wants to get back to his feet.
Prime trying to mount his opponent but Lim defends it.

Lim looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Prime prevents Lim from standing back up.
Prime thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Prime has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Prime is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.

Prime is trying to work for a kimura but Lim is defending well.
Lim is trying to control but can't.
Lim tries to get to full guard but Prime has control of the leg.
Lim is trying to stand back up but Prime is controlling him
Lim wants to get back to full guard.
Prime is trying to control the action in half guard but Lim is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Lim is not content to let Prime control the position.
Prime throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Lim wants to improve his position but Prime is controlling well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Optimus Prime dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Yo Hwan Lim's cut.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.



Prime drops his shoulder and cracks Lim with a huge uppercut! Lim goes down! Can Prime finish him?


Lim is rocked!
Prime has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Prime loads up on a big left hand. Lim felt that one! He's just covering up now, not defending himself intelligently - Prime looks towards the ref and unloads with 3 more big shots and the ref has no choice but to stop the fight! Lim can't hide his disappointment, as Prime celebrates the victory.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:25 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Optimus Prime!
