Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
26 - 35 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Craig David!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Frank Boulder!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Jack Bonds and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
David is looking to clinch but Boulder is avoiding it.
Boulder with the counter takedown but David avoids it easily.
Boulder throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. David was covering up waiting for the punch and Boulder finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Boulder prevents David from getting back to his feet.
Boulder really doesn't want to stay on the ground with David. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Boulder throws a strike but David rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Boulder wants to get back to his feet but David is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
David has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Boulder is proving hard to escape from.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
David stands up from Boulder's guard - David perhaps looking for a knockout.
David has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Main Event Gym in the buildup to the fight.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Boulder is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Boulder looks to land a body kick but David moved away.
Boulder connects with the punch.
It looks like Craig David has been cut.
Boulder moves into range and clinches up with David.
Boulder prevents David from breaking the clinch.
Boulder tries to land knees in the clinch but David avoids the damage to the body.
David escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
David lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
It looks like Frank Boulder has been cut.
David misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Boulder gets a clinch.
David breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Boulder moves to clinch but David breaks away
and David counters with a huge uppercut, hook combination that drops Boulder! The ref has seen enough - he's dived in to stop the fight! Brutal strikes by David!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Craig David!
Craig David gave a mention to Das Labor in his post fight interview. That will please them (and hopefully generate some sales).
