Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bud Macintosh (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Michael Pope (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pope comes into a darkened arena with his song building. For Whom The Bell Tolls kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 29 - 18 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Michael Pope!
The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Felipe Paraventi and Matheus Silva.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pope wants to clinch up but Macintosh keeps it at a distance.
Pope is looking to clinch.
Macintosh drops down looking for a counter takedown but Pope sprawls and moves away.
Pope wants to clinch up but Macintosh keeps it at a distance.
Macintosh feinted with a counter takedown.
Pope tries to clinch there but Macintosh circles away.
Macintosh changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
Pope ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Pope tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.

and Macintosh counters with a nice uppercut.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Macintosh has his takedown stuffed
and Pope counters with a nice body shot.

Pope has closed the distance and engaged Macintosh in a clinch.
Pope lands a hook to the side of the head.
Macintosh is trying to break free.
Macintosh goes for a takedown in the clinch but Pope prevents it.
Macintosh wants to break free but Pope has control.
Macintosh goes for a takedown attempt but Pope pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Macintosh is trying to drag Pope to the mat but Pope just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
A right handed body shot lands from Pope.
Pope prevents the takedown attempt.
Macintosh has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Pope avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Pope scores with a knee to the head.
Macintosh has Pope pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Pope manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Come on Pope - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Macintosh dodges an elbow strike from Pope.

Macintosh gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Pope wants to get back to his feet but Macintosh is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Macintosh is looking to pass into half guard but Pope pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Pope is in guard.

Macintosh controls Pope momentarily but Pope frees himself.
Pope wants to stand but Macintosh has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Macintosh looking for a sweep. Not yet Macintosh, not yet.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Macintosh trying to control the position.
Pope has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Macintosh is proving hard to escape from.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Macintosh shoots in and drives through. Pope sprawls well.
Despite the aggression on Pope's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
Pope tries to clinch there but Macintosh circles away.
Macintosh half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.

and Macintosh counters with a single leg into guard. Pope didn't expect that.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

and Macintosh counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Macintosh tries to free his leg and advance position but Pope is retaining full guard.
Macintosh is working hard here to advance position.
Macintosh postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Macintosh is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Pope felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

Macintosh is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Pope defends it well.
Macintosh is trying to control. Pope wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Macintosh prevents Pope from standing back up.
We've been hearing that Macintosh has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Pope tries to close the distance and clinch but Macintosh swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Macintosh appears to be looking for a counter takedown.

Macintosh is looking to control Pope's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Macintosh avoid being mounted?
Macintosh is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

That was a close second round but I would say that Bud Macintosh will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Pope is trying to stand up here but Macintosh is controlling him well.

Macintosh is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Macintosh controls Pope momentarily but Pope frees himself.
Pope wanted to stand there but Macintosh had control of the position.

Macintosh is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Pope tries to push off, looking to stand up, but Macintosh manages to move to mount!

Macintosh swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Pope is now in Macintosh's guard. A big mistake from Macintosh there, giving up the dominant position!

Macintosh manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Pope manages to get himself to full guard.

Macintosh wants to control from the top but Pope keeps moving.
Pope wants to stand up but Macintosh is controlling him.
Macintosh trying to control the position from guard on top but Pope is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
