Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Wyte Amungos!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Alvaro Miguelito!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Elvis Blanc and Gregory Folan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Amungos tries to land a body kick

and Miguelito counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

Miguelito manages to break the clinch.

Amungos closes the distance and clinches.
Amungos fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Amungos effectively controlling the action here.
Miguelito misses with a knee strike.
Amungos looking for a takedown.

Miguelito breaks from the clinch.
Miguelito throws a head kick but Amungos moves out of range.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Amungos tries to clinch but Miguelito moves out of range.
Amungos closes the distance and clinches up with Miguelito, looking for a takedown. Amungos pushes Miguelito against the cage but Miguelito circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Wyte Amungos. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Amungos misses with a jab, cross combination.

Amungos drives through with a takedown into guard.
Miguelito is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Miguelito trying to keep a closed guard but Amungos is proving a slippery customer.

Miguelito looking for subs off his back but Amungos has passed one foot through into half guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Miguelito can do anything to dispel that myth.
Miguelito blocking the ground and pound attempt from Amungos.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Amungos thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Miguelito's head.
Amungos wants to get back to his feet.
Miguelito trying to control but Amungos postures up.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Miguelito is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Amungos drives through with a takedown into guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Amungos not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Miguelito holds on and takes a little breather.
Amungos stands and throws Miguelito's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Amungos controls the position.
Miguelito tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Amungos wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Amungos is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Miguelito knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Amungos wants to control but Miguelito is keeping him busy.
Miguelito tries to improve position but can't.

Amungos working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Amungos wants to stand but Miguelito has his arm trapped.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Wyte Amungos dominated that round.
That's time! Back to the action!


Miguelito lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Amungos circles away quickly and effectively.
Nice takedown defense from Amungos. No joy for Miguelito on that attempt.
Miguelito throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Amungos swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Miguelito tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Amungos defends well and Miguelito ends up having to push Amungos into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Miguelito looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Wyte Amungos has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Alvaro Miguelito.

Miguelito looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Wyte Amungos overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Amungos wants to get back to his feet but Miguelito is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Miguelito is breathing heavily.

Amungos is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Miguelito has his hands clasped together but Amungos extends and breaks Miguelito's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Amungos.
