Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Victor Selassie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Scamus Kilpatrick (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Scamus Kilpatrick will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Victor Selassie!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Scamus Kilpatrick !
The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Paul Tew and Colin Fotheringham.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kilpatrick keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Kilpatrick shoots in and bounces Selassie off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Kilpatrick must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Selassie is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Kilpatrick is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Selassie connects with a nice short shot to Kilpatrick 's temple.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Selassie postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Kilpatrick looks a forlorn figure.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Kilpatrick is squirming around, avoiding Selassie's attempts to control the action.

Selassie cracks Kilpatrick with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Selassie has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Kilpatrick 's face.

Kilpatrick wants to hold on but Selassie pushes him away.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Selassie lands a big shot there that rocks Kilpatrick but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Kilpatrick really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Selassie. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Kilpatrick is squirming around, avoiding Selassie's attempts to control the action.

Selassie takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
The referee warns Kilpatrick that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
BOOM! Selassie connects with a massive shot to the dome!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Selassie closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Selassie lands in his opponent's guard.

Kilpatrick is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Selassie shoots in but no luck this time.

Selassie shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Kilpatrick napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Selassie works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
Kilpatrick is not in a great position here, taking some shots.

Kilpatrick takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
Selassie is staying tight to Kilpatrick 's torso, preventing him from escaping.
Selassie wants to lay and pray for a moment but Kilpatrick keeps working.
Kilpatrick is trying to improve his position.

Selassie connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Kilpatrick some visible discomfort.

Selassie decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Selassie tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Kilpatrick defends well and Selassie ends up having to push Kilpatrick into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Selassie here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.
Kilpatrick displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Selassie.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Victor Selassie. That's going to take a lot out of him.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Selassie.
Selassie is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Kilpatrick can do to turn this around?

Kilpatrick isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Selassie stacks Kilpatrick on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Selassie!
Kilpatrick takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Selassie lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Kilpatrick down.

Selassie has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Selassie is punishing Kilpatrick with strikes - can he finish him?!

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Selassie, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
