Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jack Kessler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mario Eikmeyer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kessler's entrance music is Yattering - Chase of Thoughts . A fine choice. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 24 - 17 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jack Kessler!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 12 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Mario Eikmeyer!
The judges for this bout are Konstantin Menshow, Vladimir Khabensky and Fedor Mirinova.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice uppercut lands for Kessler. That snapped Eikmeyer's head back.
Kessler is looking to slow Eikmeyer down with leg kicks.
Eikmeyer tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Eikmeyer.
Eikmeyer shoots for a takedown but Kessler saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

A punch lands to the side of Eikmeyer 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Kessler throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Eikmeyer stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Kessler displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Eikmeyer.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Eikmeyer looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Kessler has picked Eikmeyer up and slammed him! Eikmeyer can't keep hold of the triangle and Kessler manages to pass to side control!

My spies in Russian Fighting Community Gym inform me that Eikmeyer has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Eikmeyer sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.

Kessler's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
