Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lucien Avery (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Akira Kojima (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Avery tries to close the distance and clinch but Kojima swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Kojima shoots in and gets a takedown into Avery's guard.
Kojima trying to control the position from guard on top but Avery is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Kojima sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Avery's guard.
Avery knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Kojima on the ground.
Kojima wants to control but Avery is keeping him busy.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Avery kicks off Kojima and gets to his feet.

Kojima shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Kojima wants to pass the guard but Avery is defending well.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Avery is refusing to be controlled, as Kojima sits in half guard.
Avery really is a fat lump.
Kojima throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kojima wants to free his trapped foot but Avery is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Kojima seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Avery is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
