The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Morais shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Morais was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Morais stands up and we're back to a striking position.

We've been hearing reports that Morais has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Morais closes the distance and clinches up with Witczak, looking for a takedown. Morais pushes Witczak against the cage but Witczak circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Morais is defended easily by Witczak.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Witczak will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Morais goes for a double leg but Witczak avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Witczak continues to drive forward.
Witczak connects with a body shot that sends Morais's belly button to the back.
Witczak throws a right and a left that Morais avoids nicely.
Morais shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Witczak but Witczak pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Witczak lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.

As Morais backs off Witczak throws a huge counter combo but Morais manages to avoid it all.
Witczak looks to land a left hand but Morais moved out of range nicely.

Morais shoots for a double leg takedown but Witczak sprawls well. He's pushed Morais's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Witczak might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

Morais is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Witczak's half guard.

Morais decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
Morais throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Morais misses with the combination.
Mutant Morais is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Morais shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Witczak counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Morais's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Witczak connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Morais scrambles back to his feet.
Witczak has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Nice takedown defense from Witczak. No joy for Morais on that attempt.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Witczak! But no joy.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Morais throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Witczak's waist but Witczak gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Morais off to one side.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Witczak connects with a good right hand that stumbles Morais. Morais circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Morais fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
It seemed like Witczak was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Morais throws a combination that misses

and Witczak counters with a crisp one two that drops Morais! Witczak thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Morais to his feet! Morais is in big trouble!

Morais is rocked!
Morais drops his hands momentarily. Witczak doesn't need a second invitation, landing a shot to the temple. Morais staggers and falls to the mat and the ref dives in to save him from any more punishment. Morais doesn't seem happy with the stoppage but he was done.
