Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Thorben Bentsen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pilar Pilates (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Thorben Bentsen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Pilar Pilates!
The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, Russell Pearce and Eddie Farnsworth.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bentsen shoots in and drives through. Pilates sprawls well.
Pilates with the counter takedown but Bentsen avoids it easily.
Bentsen tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Pilates manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Pilates tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Bentsen misses with a head kick.
Bentsen throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.

Bentsen drives through and clinches with Pilates against the cage.

Pilates wants the takedown. Bentsen is fighting it off but Pilates persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Bentsen's guard against the cage.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Pilates accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Bentsen has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Pilates off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Pilates.

Bentsen throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Pilates's waist but Pilates gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Bentsen off to one side.

and Bentsen counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Bentsen doesn't manage to clinch there - Pilates circles away.
Pilates with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Pilates scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Pilates really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Bentsen. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Pilates throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Pilates is trying to control. Bentsen wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Bentsen is breathing heavily.
Pilates throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Bentsen works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Pilates wants to pass the guard but Bentsen is keeping the position.

Bentsen throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Bentsen keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Bentsen connects with an inside leg kick.
Pilates stuffs the takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Thorben Bentsen. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Bentsen scores with a one two! Pilates had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.

Pilates throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Bentsen tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Pilates is in Bentsen's guard.

Thorben Bentsen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Pilates changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.

Pilates swings for the body but Bentsen moves out of range.
Bentsen changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Pilates tries to avoid it but Bentsen manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Pilates to the ground. Pilates escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Pilates changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Bentsen looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Bentsen really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Pilates manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Bentsen on his heels. He'll look to pass Bentsen's guard now, I'm sure.

Pilar Pilates showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Bentsen avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Pilates is really struggling to land any decent head shots against his taller opponent.
Bentsen tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Pilates feints and then cracks Bentsen's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Bentsen down.

Pilates might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Bentsen haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Pilates looks to land a left hand but Bentsen moved out of range nicely.
Bentsen tries to counter by clinching up but Pilates breaks away and moves out of range.

Bentsen looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Pilates is fending him off so far but Bentsen persists. Nope, Pilates circles away and we're back to standing.

I've got Pilates winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
