Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Zackary Finyard and Dennis Oppelaar. Chooooooooon! I think Finyard might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Everlast - What Its Like. Dennis Oppelaar acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 1 rounds, in the welterweight division.

The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Lou da Vinci and Russell Pearce.



The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Finyard lands with an overhand left.
Oppelaar swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Finyard ducks under a wild hook from Oppelaar.
Oppelaar tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Finyard clobbers Oppelaar with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.

Oppelaar swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Oppelaar lands a right hook to the body.
Finyard throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.
Finyard plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Oppelaar lands a big head kick that sends Finyard tumbling to the mat! Oppelaar takes a step backwards and waves Finyard back to his feet - he wants the finish!

It looks like Zackary Finyard has been cut.
Finyard scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Zackary Finyard seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Oppelaar displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Finyard throws out the jab.

Finyard shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Oppelaar pinned against the cage. Oppelaar gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Finyard ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.

Oppelaar throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Finyard was covering up waiting for the punch and Oppelaar finishes the takedown easily into guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Finyard escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Oppelaar gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Finyard has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Oppelaar can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Oppelaar is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Finyard defends well.

Oppelaar looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Finyard with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
