Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Lawrence Finley!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Jim Murphy!
The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, James Ackerman and Sam Margolis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Finley moves into the clinch.

Murphy jumps into guard, dragging Finley to the mat.
Murphy has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Finley has passed into side control.
Murphy struggling a bit here.
Finley in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.
Murphy is looking for a sweep.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Finley avoids the strikes from the bottom by Murphy.
Murphy tries to improve position but can't.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Murphy is not in a great position here, taking some shots.

Finley moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Murphy has worked his arm free - good work by Murphy!

Murphy wants to take a breather but Finley is having none of it.

Murphy is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Finley throws an elbow that misses. Murphy uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Finley's guard. Nice move by Murphy!

Murphy wants to stand but Finley has his arm trapped.

Murphy decides to stand up, so the ref orders Finley to his feet.

Murphy's jab looks to have found its range, popping Finley under the eye.


It looks like Lawrence Finley has been cut.

Murphy shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Finley has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Murphy can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Murphy passes into half guard under a barage of strikes.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

and Finley counters with a nice uppercut.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Murphy misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Finley moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Murphy. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.
Finley wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Murphy is now in half guard.

Finley is pulling down on Murphy's head. It's preventing any offense from Murphy, at least for the moment.

Finley is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Murphy drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Finley defends it well.

Finley's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Finley is trying to push Murphy away but Murphy has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Murphy shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Murphy was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Murphy wants to lay and pray for a moment but Finley keeps working.
A bit of a lull in the action here.

Murphy decides to stand up, so the ref orders Finley to his feet.

Murphy shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Finley flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Finley pulls Murphy in close to prevent any damage.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Finley wants to break the clinch but can't.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Murphy working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Finley doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Finley manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Jim Murphy comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Murphy winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
