PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Huell Alabama (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Brody (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Alabama comes into the arena with Sweet Home Alabama blaring out of the sound system. On his way into the cage it seems that Huell Alabama has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Huell Alabama seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

and Alabama counters with a shoot takedown. Brody fights it but they end up in guard.
Alabama trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Alabama thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Alabama drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Alabama jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Alabama is working Brody over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Alabama drops back looking for a leg! Brody is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Brody manages to kick Alabama off! Alabama jumps back into Brody's guard.
Alabama passes easily into side control. Nice work.

Alabama wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Brody, who protects the arm well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Alabama is trying to get an arm triangle but Brody is defending well.
Alabama moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.

Alabama wants to control but Brody is keeping him busy.

Alabama has an Americana. Brody didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Alabama is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Alabama hooks up with any of them at the after show party.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:50 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Huell Alabama!
Huell Alabama spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
