Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Julian Eduardo Demaestri (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Takeshi Yuudai (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Julian Eduardo Demaestri!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Takeshi Yuudai!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Robert Twigg and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yuudai connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Demaestri tries to score a power double leg takedown but Yuudai sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Demaestri somewhat.
Demaestri fails with the takedown.
Yuudai looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Yuudai connects with a leg kick. Demaestri looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Yuudai thuds a left hand into Demaestri's body.
Yuudai lands with an overhand left.
Both fighters circling a little - Yuudai finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.
Demaestri has his takedown stuffed
and Yuudai counters with a series of strikes. Demaestri will be more careful next time no doubt.

Demaestri is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Yuudai defends it well.

Yuudai wants to take a breather but Demaestri is having none of it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Demaestri is refusing to be controlled, as Yuudai sits in half guard.
Demaestri is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Demaestri wants to control but Yuudai is keeping busy.
Yuudai works his way into side control.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Demaestri is trying to get back to half guard.
Demaestri is working hard here to advance position.
Yuudai tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
Demaestri tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Yuudai wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Yuudai is looking to take a break and control but Demaestri is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Yuudai feints and then cracks Demaestri's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Demaestri down.

It looks like Julian Eduardo Demaestri has been cut.
Yuudai buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Demaestri takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Demaestri tries for a takedown but Yuudai circles away easily
and Yuudai counters with a straight right hand.
This has been an exciting period of action!
That kick from Yuudai tenderised Demaestri's leg. Demaestri is trying to keep his angry face on.
Yuudai scores with a crisp jab that stopped Demaestri in his tracks.
Demaestri is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.
Demaestri will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Yuudai swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Yuudai is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.

Demaestri fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Yuudai avoids it really well and circles away.
Yuudai thinks about the counter body kick.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Yuudai lands a nice shot that snaps Demaestri's head back.

Demaestri shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Yuudai napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Yuudai regains full guard. Nicely done.
Demaestri stands up over Yuudai, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Yuudai has Demaestri pulled in close to control his posture.
Yuudai is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Yuudai is adopting a defensive guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Yuudai manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Demaestri manages to get himself to full guard.

Demaestri throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.

Demaestri working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Yuudai doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Yuudai manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Yuudai has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Demaestri escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Yuudai gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Yuudai is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.

Demaestri throws a head kick that misses
and Yuudai counters with a thumping low kick.
Demaestri looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Demaestri walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.

Yuudai clinches up with Demaestri and pushes him back against the cage.
Yuudai lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Demaestri drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Yuudai gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Yuudai makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Yuudai lands a right hand that snaps the head of Demaestri backwards.


Demaestri is rocked!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Takeshi Yuudai showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!


A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Demaestri.
Yuudai lands a nice hook to Demaestri's body. Demaestri takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

Oh Demaestri is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Yuudai lands an uppercut, right on the button! Demaestri tumbles backwards into the cage, staring vacantly into space! He's got no idea where he is, who he is or what day it is... Poor guy.

An out of breath Takeshi Yuudai thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
