PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jake Kilmster (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kisame Hoshigaki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kilmster comes into the arena with Maylene & The Sons of Disaster - Darkest of Kin blaring out of the sound system. Hoshigaki has chosen HMMM! as his entrance music. Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 31 - 27 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Jake Kilmster!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kisame Hoshigaki!
The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Tarja Halkonen and Arvi Lind.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kilmster loads up on a big right hand but Hoshigaki slips the punch.
Kilmster shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Hoshigaki pinned against the cage. Hoshigaki gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Some bone on bone action there as Hoshigaki checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Kilmster throws a shot from downtown. Hoshigaki moves away and avoids it.
Hoshigaki throws a leg kick which misses Kilmster's front leg but catches the back leg as Kilmster tries to avoid it.
Kilmster misses with a double jab.
We've been informed that Hoshigaki has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.

and Kilmster counters with a left to the body.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

It looked like Kilmster was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.

Kilmster fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Hoshigaki avoids it really well and circles away.

A little feinted left hand from Kilmster on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.

Kilmster jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Hoshigaki walks away with a smile on his face. Kilmster gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Kisame Hoshigaki seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

A head kick lands from Hoshigaki that sends Kilmster to the canvas. Kilmster tries to scramble back to his feet but Hoshigaki brings him back down into side control.
