The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chocula misses with a jab, cross combination.
Chocula jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.

John closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Chocula is not content to let John control the position.

John has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at Cozad The Island. Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

John is looking to take a break and control but Chocula is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Chocula lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Chocula throws the left hand but John avoids the punch easily.
John fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Nice takedown defense from Chocula. No joy for John on that attempt.
A little feinted left hand from Chocula on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Chocula fails to land with a series of punches.
Chocula swings for the body but John moves out of range.
John closes this distance looking for a takedown but Chocula circles away.
Count Chocula has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Alex John.

John takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
John throws a head kick but Chocula moves out of range.
Chocula fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. John looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
John shoots in for a double leg but Chocula sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Chocula swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
John swings away with a body shot that misses
and Chocula connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
A slow jab from Chocula misses its intended target.
No luck for John with that takedown attempt.

John shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Chocula defends it nicely.
John takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Chocula throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent John stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
John drops his hands momentarily and Chocula takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Chocula keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Chocula catches John with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!

John is rocked!
Chocula walks forward and throws a big overhand right! John drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes! Chocula swarms on him with more punches until the referee wrestles him away from John's unconscious body! Wow, that was brutal!
