Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between German Ashley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ivan Darko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ivan Darko is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Dillan Fox and Trevor Gratis.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ashley throws a lazy head kick
and Darko counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Ashley looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Darko has momentary wrist control but Ashley slips an elbow through the middle.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Darko can do anything to dispel that myth.

Darko is working an open guard so Ashley takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Darko looks to land a combination but Ashley avoids it well.
Darko keeps the fight on the outside.
It seemed like Darko was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Darko has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Ashley is landing a low percentage of strikes.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Left hook, right uppercut from Darko.
Ashley changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Darko tries to avoid it but Ashley manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Darko to the ground. Darko escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Darko is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.

A head kick misses from Ashley.
Ashley doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Darko counters with a nice uppercut.
Ashley drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.

and Darko counters with a series of strikes. Ashley will be more careful next time no doubt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for German Ashley. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Darko avoids the head kick by Ashley.
Ivan Darko is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Ashley tries to score a power double leg takedown but Darko sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Ashley somewhat.

Ashley dives in for a single leg takedown but Darko sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Ashley is rocked!

It looks like German Ashley has been cut.
Darko lunges in with a left hook that violently twists Ashley head around and knocks him out cold! Darko hops onto the cage and yells out at the top of his lungs - Yeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaah! They're showing the replay on the big screens now; that was nasty! I hope one of the photographers got a good shot of it.
