The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Strummer lands with a nice body punch.
Filgueiras is trying hard to land a takedown here. Strummer sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Filgueiras gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Strummer counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

It looks like Luana Peroba Filgueiras has been cut.
A combination from Strummer does no damage.
Filgueiras shoots for a double leg takedown but Strummer sprawls well. He's pushed Filgueiras's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Strummer unleashes a big counter combination but Filgueiras bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.

Strummer stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Strummer wants it to stay on the feet.

Strummer closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Strummer lands in his opponent's guard.

Strummer drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Strummer jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Strummer sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Filgueiras's guard.
Strummer tries to pass to full mount but Filgueiras defends it.
Filgueiras is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Strummer wants to take a breather but Filgueiras is having none of it.
Filgueiras wants to get back to full guard.
Filgueiras is working hard here to advance position.

Strummer is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Filgueiras is just riding it out for now. Strummer eventually gives up the hold.
Filgueiras is looking for a sweep. Strummer is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
