The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Von Matterhorn lands a head kick. Red smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Red's coach down at ELITE University of Hard Knocks was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Red's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.

It looks like Lorenzo Von Matterhorn has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Von Matterhorn fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Red has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Red looks to land a combination but Von Matterhorn avoids it well.

and Von Matterhorn counters with a nice uppercut that drops Red onto his backside! Red bounces straight back to his feet before we have a chance to even start the count. He'll get the standing 8 count anyway before we get back underway.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Lorenzo Von Matterhorn takes that one as he scored multiple knockdowns. Manchester Red was lucky to get out of the first round.

Red walks into a straight right hand and goes down! Von Matterhorn rushes to a neutral corner so the count doesn't get delayed but Red has made it back to his feet on 5. He's OK so we're back to the action.
Red moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Red throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Red lands a leg kick that knocks Von Matterhorn off balance momentarily.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Red ducks into a a hook from Von Matterhorn and goes down! He looks in a bit of a mess; will he beat the count?! 4,5,6,7,8 - he's up and looking to carry on! The referee looks into his eyes and sees that he's OK to continue!

Red uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Von Matterhorn.

Von Matterhorn catches Red with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!

Von Matterhorn lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.

Von Matterhorn feints and then cracks Red's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Red down.

Red is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

After winning the bout, Lorenzo Von Matterhorn thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
