The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Belmont bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

We've been informed that Kanitz has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
Kanitz fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Belmont manages to avoid it.
Kanitz fakes the leg kick and cracks Belmont in the body.
A chopping leg kick lands by Kanitz.
Belmont throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
A little jabbing left from Kanitz on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

and Kanitz counters with a nice low kick that buckles Belmont's knee momentarily.
Kanitz tries to land a leg kick but Belmont saw it coming and moves away.
Kanitz cracks Belmont with a right hand to the side of the head.
Augustus Belmont seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kanitz swings away with a body shot that misses
and Belmont counters with a body kick that stops Kanitz in his tracks momentarily.
Kanitz catches Belmont with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Kanitz steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Belmont.
Kanitz throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Belmont chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Kanitz can pounce on him.
Belmont is looking to wear down Kanitz with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
Kanitz uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Belmont.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Belmont lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
