The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Spong ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Spong blocks a jab.
Some bone on bone action there as Spong checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Spong feints a counter leg kick.
Semerkhet takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Semerkhet connects with a leg kick. Spong looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Semerkhet lands a jab to the head.
The fighters circling - Semerkhet throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

Spong lets loose with a powerful body kick. Semerkhet will feel that in the morning.

Semerkhet walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Spong checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.

Spong changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Semerkhet tries to avoid it but Spong manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Semerkhet to the ground. Semerkhet escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Spong thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Spong got a little sloppy there for a moment and Semerkhet has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Spong has managed to get both his arms back between Semerkhet's legs - danger averted.
