Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ward Weber (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Anderson Weidmann (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Anderson Weidmann has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Ward Weber!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Anderson Weidmann!
The judges for this bout are Illya Tyunina, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Viktor Lagutenko.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Weber gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Weber misses with a punch on the inside.
Weber misses with a hook to the ribs.
Weidmann gets underhooks to prevent Weber's takedown attempt.
Weber misses with a hook from the clinch.
A frustrated look appears on Weidmann's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Weidmann pulls guard effortlessly.
Weidmann looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Weidmann is on top in guard.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Weidmann accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Weidmann is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Weidmann takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Weidmann is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Weber can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Weidmann is taking a breather. Weber says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Weidmann wants to pass to mount but Weber is defending the position.

Weidmann is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Weber doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Weidmann.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Weidmann is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Weber wants to improve his position but Weidmann is controlling well.

The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Weidmann. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Weber enables Weidmann to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Weber manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Weber will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Weidmann is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.

Weidmann is working for a submission of some sort.
Weidmann seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Anderson Weidmann showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!



Weber gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Weidmann seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Weber can't keep his opponent in guard - Weidmann advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Weidmann tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Weidmann manages to capitalize on a mistake by Weber to take his back!

Weber can't escape the position.
Weber tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!

Weidmann swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Weber is now in Weidmann's guard. A big mistake from Weidmann there, giving up the dominant position!

Anderson Weidmann comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Weidmann winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
