Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jordan Whitman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fabian Nicosia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fabian Nicosia will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nicosia throws a series of punches but Whitman moves out of range.

Whitman moves into range and clinches up with Nicosia.
Nicosia has Whitman pressed against the cage.

Nicosia escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Jordan Whitman seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Whitman bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Whitman tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Whitman wants to stand but Nicosia is controlling his arm.

Whitman looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.

Nicosia is looking to regain half guard here but Whitman keeps moving and retains side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Nicosia is trying to escape the position but Whitman is controlling the position.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Nicosia takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Nicosia manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Whitman connects with a nice short shot to Nicosia's temple.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Nicosia is looking to improve his position.
Nicosia avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Whitman.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Whitman advances to full mount.

Whitman pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Whitman lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
Whitman manages to capitalize on a mistake by Nicosia to take his back!

So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.

Whitman keeps control of the position as Nicosia tries to break free.
Whitman has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Nicosia is trying to defend against the choke here but Whitman has an arm under his chin. This one might not last much longer. Whitman Tightens the hold and Nicosia taps out furiously! Whitman displays superior BJJ to win the fight.
