Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jet Li (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bittor Xavier (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Li comes into the arena with Tourniquet by Evanescence blaring out of the sound system. Xavier has chosen Jane's Addiction- Mountain Song as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Li keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

The fighters circle momentarily. Li darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

Xavier fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Li to the ground. Xavier is now in Li's guard.

Li is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Xavier is aware though and is defending well.
Xavier pushes down on Li's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Li has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Xavier is working away from the top position though.
Li might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Xavier is looking for a kimura but Li is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Xavier to get the leverage.
Li wants to get back to his feet.

Li misses with a straight left.

Xavier manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Li on his heels. He'll look to pass Li's guard now, I'm sure.

Xavier paying the price for stalling here - he's pushing hard on the arm trying to free himself but it's no use! He's tapped! WOW, quick submission from Li - great work!
