Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Edward Durden (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Edu Fola (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Durden might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Monster. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Fola has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Durden is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Horrible takedown attempt by Durden or perhaps it was just good defense by Fola, which made it look bad.

Durden is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Fola doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Durden.

It looked like Durden was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.

and Durden counters with a single leg into guard. Fola didn't expect that.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Fola wants to stand but Durden is controlling the position.

Fola decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Durden, up you get!
Durden shoots in for a takedown but Fola shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

and Durden counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

and Durden counters with a nice double leg into side control. Fola won't be happy with that.

Durden is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Fola is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Fola wants to get back to his feet but Durden drags him back down.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Durden feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Durden is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Fola can't fight it off and eventually Durden manages to take the fight to the floor. Fola looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
