The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lester tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Lambert shoots in and gets a takedown into Lester's guard.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Lester can do anything to dispel that myth.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Lambert accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Lester really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Lambert. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Lambert has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Lester finds it's way round the side to connect with Lambert's head.

Lester tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Lambert paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Lambert uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Lester.

Lambert fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Lester manages to avoid it.

Lambert misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
As Lambert backs off Lester throws a huge counter combo but Lambert manages to avoid it all.

Lambert with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Lester to score with a decent uppercut.

Lester lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Lambert at a distance.

Lester throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Lambert stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Lester throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Lambert on the side of the head.

Lester throws a nice looking combination but Lambert bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Lambert ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Lester moves away.

Lambert fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Lester sprawls well initially but Lambert persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Lester manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Lambert keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.

Lester tries to land knees in the clinch but Lambert avoids the damage to the body.
Lambert wants to take the fight to the mat but Lester manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, Lester just misses with a elbow thrown towards Lambert's brow.

Moe Lester showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Lambert closes the distance and clinches up with Lester, looking for a takedown. Lambert pushes Lester against the cage but Lester circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Lester throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Lambert tries to counter by clinching up but Lester breaks away and moves out of range.

Lester scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.

Lester pushes Lambert away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Lambert gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Lester is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.

Lambert is trying to get an arm triangle but Lester is defending well.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Lambert is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Lester is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

I would just about give that final round to Moe Lester.
Well Lester has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
