The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Seg tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Mendes is looking to counter the offense by Seg and move into the clinch.
Mendes throws a combination that misses
and Seg counters with a left and a right that stings Mendes.
Mendes lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.

Mendes moves out of range as Seg strikes.

Seg shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Seg was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Mendes definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Mendes looks to move to half guard but instead Seg has passed into mount! Damn!

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Seg manages to capitalize on a mistake by Mendes to take his back!

Mendes is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Seg gets his way!
Mendes can't escape the position.
