Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Jacques Diddles!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Gregory Mitchell!
The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, James Glass and Steven Brown.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mitchell slaps away a takedown attempt from Diddles, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Diddles will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Diddles is looking to clinch but Mitchell is avoiding it.
Diddles wants to clinch
and Diddles takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Diddles shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Mitchell counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jacques Diddles. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Diddles tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Diddles moves to clinch but Mitchell breaks away
and Mitchell counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Diddles tries to close the distance and clinch up but Mitchell swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Diddles throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Mitchell.
Diddles tries for a takedown but Mitchell circles away easily
and Mitchell counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Mitchell with a body punch. A glancing blow.
Mitchell lands a nice hook to Diddles's body. Diddles takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Mitchell comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Diddles is breathing heavily.
A momentary lapse in concentration from Mitchell enables Diddles to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Mitchell manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Mitchell wants to stand and escape but Diddles is having none of it.
Mitchell has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at ~T~ Troid - Gym. Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one.
Diddles has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Mitchell is proving hard to escape from.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Diddles trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Diddles is looking to pass into half guard but Mitchell pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Mitchell is in guard.
Mitchell stops Diddles from standing up.
Mitchell decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Diddles, up you get!
Diddles dives in and grabs Mitchell's left leg, looking for a takedown. Mitchell pushes down on Diddles's head and hops out.
Diddles misses with a series of wild punches.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Diddles has his takedown stuffed
letting Mitchell counter with a right hand.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Diddles stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Mitchell.
Mitchell connects with the punch.
Diddles is rocked!
Diddles is holding his hands too far apart here. Mitchell throws a hard, straight punch right down the pipe and BOOM! Diddles is out! That punch landed square on the jaw - what a shot!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:25 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Gregory Mitchell!
Gregory Mitchell bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.
