Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Elmer Powell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kevin OPossum (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Elmer Powell!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Kevin OPossum!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Robert Douchet and Yves DeLean.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Powell gets caught napping as OPossum dives in and scores a takedown. Powell manages to retain guard.

Powell is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and OPossum defends well.

OPossum stands up from Powell's guard - OPossum perhaps looking for a knockout.
OPossum stuffs the takedown.
OPossum throws a nice outside leg kick.
OPossum throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
OPossum throws a head kick but Powell moves out of range.

OPossum looking to score a takedown here. Powell is defending well but OPossum drives through and ends up in Powell's guard.

Powell is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and OPossum defends well.
OPossum advances position into side control!
OPossum wants to lay and pray for a moment but Powell keeps working.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Powell tries to strike but it doesn't land.

OPossum working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Powell tries to escape but OPossum is in control.
Powell tries to bench press OPossum off him but OPossum keeps the position.

Powell gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!

OPossum looking to control but Powell is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Powell bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
Powell won't allow OPossum to sweep him here.
Powell really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
OPossum is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
OPossum trying to keep a closed guard but Powell is proving a slippery customer.
OPossum avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Powell won't allow OPossum to sweep him here.

Powell has gone for a leg lock! OPossum slips out almost immediately though and dives into Powell's guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Powell keeping moving, preventing OPossum from controlling successfully.

Powell looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Powell escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. OPossum gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Powell is breathing heavily.
OPossum tries to free his leg and advance position but Powell is retaining full guard.

OPossum trying to control the position from guard on top but Powell is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

OPossum stands up and waves to Powell to follow him.

OPossum shoots in and bounces Powell off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
OPossum trying to control the position from guard on top but Powell is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
OPossum scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kevin OPossum dominated that round.
That's time! Back to the action!


Powell throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

OPossum shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than OPossum was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Powell is trying to get back to half guard.
OPossum wants to lay and pray for a moment but Powell keeps working.

OPossum is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Powell is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
OPossum has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
OPossum gets to mount! Powell was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
OPossum trying to control but he's not successful this time.

Powell working to try and regain half guard.
Powell is working hard here to advance position.
OPossum can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Powell is looking to escape.
OPossum tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Powell is looking to get to half guard.
OPossum with shots to the head and body - Powell looks very uncomfortable down there.

Powell keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
OPossum sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
You get the feeling that Powell really doesn't like being in this position too much.
OPossum controlling the position easily from mount.
A nice elbow there by OPossum.
OPossum looking to control but Powell is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

Powell gets back to half guard.
OPossum looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

OPossum decides to stand up.
OPossum tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Powell shoots in for a double leg but OPossum sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
OPossum misses with a wild body shot.

OPossum darts in and clinches Powell up against the cage.

OPossum gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Powell regains guard.
OPossum trying to control the position from guard on top but Powell is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
OPossum is breathing heavily.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Powell had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. OPossum defends it easily.

Powell is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! OPossum has his hands clasped together but Powell extends and breaks OPossum's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Powell.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:33 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Elmer Powell!
