Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rodrigo Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chester Barcelona (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Silva comes to the ring accompanied by Roots Bloody Roots - Sepultura. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Rodrigo Silva!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Chester Barcelona!
The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Emerson Jorge and Felipe Paraventi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva swats away the attempt to clinch by Barcelona.
Barcelona walks into a stiff left hand from Silva.
Silva throws a jab when Barcelona was well out of range.
Barcelona steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Silva.

Barcelona has closed the distance and engaged Silva in a clinch.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Barcelona takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
Barcelona is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the ropes.
Silva lands a shoulder strike.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Barcelona pulls guard effortlessly.
Silva has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Barcelona is proving hard to escape from.

Barcelona looking for a guillotine here but Silva defends easily.

Silva postures up in Barcelona's guard and throws a big left but Barcelona blocks it.

Silva seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission.

Barcelona postures up in Silva's guard and throws a big left but Silva blocks it.
Silva lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Silva throws a big elbow that misses.
Barcelona keeping full guard, as Silva tries to pass.
Silva has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Barcelona is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Silva is looking to stand up but Barcelona won't let him.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Barcelona tries to clinch up but Silva circles away and keeps his distance.

Silva gets caught napping as Barcelona dives in and scores a takedown. Silva manages to retain guard.

Barcelona decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Silva, up you get!
Barcelona looks to land a combination but Silva avoids it well.

A looping hook to the body misses from Silva. Barcelona does a little dance to reset his feet.
Barcelona misses with a kick to the body.

Barcelona has taken the fight to the clinch.

Barcelona jumps into guard, dragging Silva to the mat.
Silva wants to get up but he can't break Barcelona's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Barcelona wants to stand up but Silva is controlling him.
Silva tries to free his leg and advance position but Barcelona is retaining full guard.
Barcelona is trying to control the position but Silva postures up.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Barcelona is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Barcelona has his hands on Silva's head, controlling the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Chester Barcelona will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.



Silva gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Barcelona to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Barcelona gets to his feet. Silva looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Silva wants to sweep here but Barcelona controlling him for the moment.

Barcelona trying to control the position from guard on top but Silva is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Silva tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Silva bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Barcelona's guard.

Barcelona pulls Silva in to control the position.
Barcelona really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Silva. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Barcelona will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

Silva has gone for a leg lock! Barcelona slips out almost immediately though and dives into Silva's guard.

Barcelona has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Barcelona drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Silva dives on top into guard.


Silva drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Silva jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Silva wants to stand and escape but instead Barcelona has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Silva pulls Barcelona in close to prevent any damage.
Barcelona must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Barcelona wanted to stand there but Silva had control of the position.
Silva keeping moving, preventing Barcelona from controlling successfully.
Barcelona slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Silva can't do much from the bottom here.

Barcelona stands up and we're back to a striking position.

Barcelona rushes Silva and pushes him back against the ropes in a clinch.

Barcelona has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Silva regains guard immediately.
Barcelona wants to control from the top but Silva keeps moving.
Barcelona won't allow Silva to get back to his feet.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Chester Barcelona showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Back to the action! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!


Barcelona tries to clinch there but Silva circles away.
Barcelona throws a front kick aimed at Silva's knee but Silva avoids it well.
Silva was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Silva is trying to force a seperation but Barcelona has the dominant position.
Silva takes an elbow to the temple.
Barcelona misses with a punch to the body.
A head punch on the inside from Silva fails to land.

Barcelona is working on a single leg takedown against the ropes. Silva can't fight it off and eventually Barcelona manages to take the fight to the floor. Silva looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Silva lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Barcelona wants to stand up but Silva is controlling him.

Barcelona has his foot on Silva's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Silva works his way back into a safe position though.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Silva is looking to stand up but Barcelona won't let him.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Barcelona moves out of range of the strikes.
Barcelona tries to clinch up.
Silva misses with a body shot.
Rodrigo Silva is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Silva tries to keep at a distance but Barcelona has taken the fight into the clinch.
Barcelona is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.
Silva tries to pull guard but Barcelona forces him back to his feet, against the ropes.
Silva on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.

Barcelona escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Barcelona throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Silva tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Barcelona is in Silva's guard.
Barcelona looking to sit in guard and control but Silva gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Silva pushing down on Barcelona's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.

Silva prevents Barcelona from improving his position.
Silva tries to stand but can't do so whilst Barcelona controls his leg.
Barcelona tries to roll over but Silva keeps him under control.
Barcelona takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Silva wants to work for an arm triangle but Barcelona is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Chester Barcelona is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Silva wants to stand up but Barcelona has a hold of him and won't allow it.
Rodrigo Silva has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Silva is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Barcelona has managed to free his arm - good work.

Silva is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Barcelona sees it coming and defends easily.
Barcelona tries to kick Silva off but Silva keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Silva wants to stand but Barcelona has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.
Barcelona wants to get back to his feet.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Barcelona is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Barcelona looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Chester Barcelona.
I've got Barcelona winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
