Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Stuart King (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and David Whyte (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, David Whyte!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Cecil Peabody and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Whyte throws a head kick that misses.
Whyte takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Whyte's hands are dropping dangerously low here and King connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Whyte scrambles back to his feet.
Whyte scores with a nice right hand.
King connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
King misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Whyte.

enabling Whyte to counter with a crisp jab.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

and Whyte counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps King thinking.
King gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Whyte.

Whyte's jab looks to have found its range, popping King under the eye.

King has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Whyte is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Whyte throws a punch but it's blocked by King.

Whyte tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.

Whyte is fighting off a takedown attempt but King is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Whyte to the mat. Whyte regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

Whyte is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of King's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take King's back!

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from King lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Whyte has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Whyte and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Whyte. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

King throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
King tries to score a power double leg takedown but Whyte sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten King somewhat.
Whyte wants to counter with a clinch but King pushes him away.
Whyte misses with a few strikes there.
Whyte misses with a head kick.
Whyte throws a right and a left that King avoids nicely.

King ducks right into an uppercut from Whyte.
Whyte throws a sloppy head kick and King moves out of range easily.
King tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Whyte swivels and escapes.

enabling Whyte to counter with a crisp jab.
King shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Whyte avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

King closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
King seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Whyte does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

King is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Whyte defends well.
David Whyte is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
King throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Whyte goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Whyte feints a jab promting King to slip. Whyte then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. King slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Nice takedown defense from Whyte. No joy for King on that attempt.
Whyte is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.
