Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between James Barber (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fabian Peters (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fabian Peters is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, James Barber!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Fabian Peters!
The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Paulsen Ambrosius and Nard Betker.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Barber gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Peters to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Barber seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Barber is wriggling around but Peters manages to pass to half guard.
Barber tries to kick Peters off but Peters keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Peters wants to take a breather but Barber is having none of it.
Peters prevents Barber from standing back up.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Barber is trying to maintain the position but Peters is very close to passing his half guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Peters avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Peters unleashes a big counter combination but Barber bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.

Peters clinches up against the cage.

Peters has hold of one of Barber's legs. Barber is fighting the takedown attempt but Peters gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.

Barber tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Peters wants to get up but he can't break Barber's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

Barber tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Peters paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Barber escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Peters swats away the attempt to clinch by Barber.
Peters throws a sloppy head kick and Barber moves out of range easily.
Barber tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Peters manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Barber gets caught flat footed, as Peters shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Barber looking to hit a scissor sweep but Peters is one step ahead there.

Peters closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Peters working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.

Peters is trying to work for a kimura but Barber is defending well.

Peters fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Barber to the ground. Peters is now in Barber's guard.
Peters won't allow Barber to get back to his feet.
Peters throws a strike but Barber rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Barber is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Peters dives into side control.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Peters stands up and beckons Barber to his feet.

Peters gets to his feet - Barber follows without any prompting.

Peters is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Barber looks like he's trying to stand up.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Peters is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Barber doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Peters.
Peters wants to take a breather but Barber is having none of it.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Fabian Peters is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

A slapping body kick lands there for Peters.

Fabian Peters comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Peters has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
