Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Mohammed Simmons (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack Slack (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Mohammed Simmons!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jack Slack!
The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Shigeki Fujiwara.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Slack tries to clinch but Simmons is having none of it.
Jack Slack seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Sloppy strikes from Slack. Those never looked like landing.
Simmons changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.

Simmons gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Slack to score an easy takedown into full guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Slack is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

Simmons manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Slack manages to get himself to full guard.

Simmons throws a big elbow that misses.
Slack is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Slack has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Simmons is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Slack.

Simmons fires out a quick counter leg kick but Slack just manages to avoid it.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Simmons lands a couple of digs.
Slack preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Slack is trying to hold Simmons in close to prevent damage but Simmons has managed to pass into half guard.

Simmons looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Slack with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Slack closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Simmons to the mat! Simmons manages to get full guard.
