Sorsa shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Volpicelli as he jumps to the side.

Sorsa is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Volpicelli is looking to control Sorsa's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Volpicelli avoid being mounted?

Volpicelli wants to control but Sorsa is keeping busy and won't allow it.

That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Sorsa crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Volpicelli - the referee stops the clock and Sorsa gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Volpicelli. Sorsa manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

Sorsa drops his hands momentarily and Volpicelli takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.

Volpicelli ducks down into range and throws a picture perfect right hook that connects with Sorsa's jaw. Sorsa's eyes stare off into space as he falls to the mat, out cold! Volpicelli does the decent thing and steps back, rather than landing any shots to his unconscious opponent.

After winning the bout, Gianpaolo Volpicelli thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
