Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Fred Simmons (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mick Dundee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Fred Simmons!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mick Dundee!
The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Franklyn Lucas and David Schapiro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A combination from Dundee does no damage.
Simmons definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Dundee lands a jab to the head.
Simmons on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Simmons darts in trying to clinch
and Dundee counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Simmons throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Dundee's waist but Dundee gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Simmons off to one side.
Simmons tries to close the distance and clinch up but Dundee swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Dundee misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Simmons takes the fight into the clinch.
Simmons is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Dundee prevents the takedown attempt.

Simmons drops back looking for a leg! Dundee is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Dundee manages to kick Simmons off! Simmons jumps back into Dundee's guard.
Dundee really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Simmons. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Simmons tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Dundee manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Dundee unleashes a big counter combination but Simmons bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.

Dundee's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Dundee scores with a jab. Simmons acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Fred Simmons seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Simmons on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Dundee lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Simmons tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Dundee manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Dundee lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Dundee lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Simmons wants to clinch up but Dundee keeps it at a distance.
Dundee lands a lovely overhand right.
Dundee lands a jab to the head.
Simmons tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Dundee paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Simmons closes the distance and pushes Dundee back into the cage.
Dundee looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Good anti-grappling being displayed by Simmons as Dundee tries to tie him up.
Dundee is looking to control Simmons's arms but Simmons gets an underhook and turns him. Now Dundee has his back to the cage.
Dundee is trying to slow the pace down but that's a couple of times in a row that he's tried to get underhooks and Simmons has denied him.
Dundee is trying to stall.
Dundee is trying to break the clinch but Simmons has him pressed against the cage.
Simmons tries to pull guard but Dundee won't allow it.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Dundee has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.

Simmons turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!

Simmons wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Dundee, who protects the arm well.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Simmons staying calm.
Dundee told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet.

Simmons tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Dundee can do anything to dispel that myth.
Simmons prevents Dundee from escaping the position.

Dundee thuds his right hand into Simmons's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Dundee smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Dundee stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Dundee wants it to stay on the feet.

Simmons throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Dundee escapes and throws Simmons's legs to the side, diving into side control!

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Dundee pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Simmons back to the cage. Dundee follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.

Simmons is rocked!
Dundee throws an overhand right that drops Simmons like a sack of potatoes! Dundee dives in to finish the fight with more strikes and this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:35 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Mick Dundee!
Mick Dundee spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
