The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Afolabi uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Poontang.
Poontang thows a left - swing and a miss!
Poontang throws a jab but it's blocked by Afolabi.
Afolabi scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Poontang stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Afolabi.
Poontang scores with a decent looking hook.
Poontang misses with a hook.
Afolabi throws a nice outside leg kick.
Afolabi tries a head kick but it misses.
Afolabi blocks a jab.
Poontang walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Poontang throws out a loose jab but Afolabi uses good head movement to avoid it.
Poontang chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Afolabi can pounce on him.
A swing and a miss from Poontang.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Afolabi bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Poontang takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Poontang tries to close the distance and clinch up but Afolabi swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Afolabi throws a head kick but Poontang moves out of range.
Afolabi tests Poontang's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Poontang slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Afolabi fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Poontang has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
A slow jab from Poontang misses its intended target.
Afolabi feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Poontang's calf.
No joy there for Poontang, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Poontang instigates a clinch.
Afolabi makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
The referee is keeping an eye on Poontang - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Afolabi blocks an elbow strike.
Afolabi fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
With the fighters up against the cage, Poontang throws an elbow but misses.
A head punch on the inside from Afolabi fails to land.
Afolabi tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Afolabi's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Nice defenses there by Afolabi.
Poontang throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Afolabi sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Afolabi, right into the meat.
Afolabi lands with a thumping leg kick.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Afolabi buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Poontang's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.
Poontang throws an overhand right that lands on Afolabi's shoulder, as Afolabi tries to avoid the shot.
Afolabi half committed to a counter leg kick.
Poontang throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Poontang looks to land a left hand but Afolabi moved out of range nicely.
Afolabi looked to counter that last move with a leg kick but didn't pull the trigger.
Afolabi blocks a jab.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Afolabi moves away from the strike by Poontang.
Afolabi throws a head kick that Poontang semi-blocks.

It looks like Rudolpho Poontang has been cut.
A left lands for Afolabi.
Poontang throws out a powerful jab.
Poontang throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Afolabi counters with a lovely straight right hand!

Poontang is rocked!
Poontang tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Poontang is still on wobbly legs! Can Afolabi finish him?
Afolabi moves out of range of the strikes.

Poontang misses with a straight right.

Poontang cracks Afolabi with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Afolabi lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Poontang seems to have recovered his senses.
Afolabi drops Poontang with a big left hand! Poontang is injured, injured bad! Afolabi jumps in and finished him with strikes! The fight is over!
