Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Roderick Patel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chris Finnegan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chris Finnegan will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Roderick Patel!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chris Finnegan!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Gwen Towbar and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Finnegan closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Patel tries to improve position but can't.
The referee asks Finnegan politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Finnegan prefers to stall for the moment though.
Patel manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Patel is looking for a sweep. Finnegan is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Patel really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Patel is not content to let Finnegan control the position.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Patel gets his hands free as Finnegan looks to control.

Patel will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Patel takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

Finnegan darts in and clinches Patel up against the cage.

It looks like Roderick Patel has been cut.
Patel tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Finnegan just stands there and leans against the cage.

Patel is stalling in the full guard.

Patel would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Finnegan shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Patel manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Patel is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Patel is taking a breather. Finnegan says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Finnegan is looking to control Patel's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Finnegan avoid being mounted?
Patel is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.

Patel decides to stand up.

Patel shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Finnegan's guard.

Finnegan is looking for a triangle here but Patel uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.

Finnegan avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Patel.
Patel content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.

Patel stands up and beckons Finnegan to his feet.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Finnegan misses with an attempted mid kick.
Patel shoots in looking for a takedown. Finnegan tries to sprawl out of it but Patel keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Finnegan manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Roderick Patel will probably get the nod.

Finnegan connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Finnegan lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Patel at a distance.
Finnegan moves in looking to clinch but Patel pushes him off.

Patel fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Finnegan tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Patel half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Finnegan misses with a kick to the body.

Patel is not content to let Finnegan control the position.

Patel is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Finnegan is one step ahead and moves to full mount!

Chris Finnegan comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Finnegan has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
