Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 23 - 18 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Charlie Meyers!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 20 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Taneli Hauki!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Steve Smith and Trevor Gratis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hauki throws a big shot that misses.
Meyers bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Meyers tries to clinch up.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Meyers.
Hauki connects with a crisp jab.
Meyers tries to score a power double leg takedown but Hauki sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Meyers somewhat.
Hauki catches Meyers with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!


It looks like Charlie Meyers has been cut.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Meyers shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

Meyers drives through with a takedown into Hauki's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Hauki wants to control from the top but Meyers keeps moving.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Meyers working for submissions but it's allowed Hauki to get to half guard.
Hauki is trying to control the action in half guard but Meyers is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Meyers jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Hauki walks away with a smile on his face. Meyers gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Hauki throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Hauki fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Meyers on the side of the head.

As Hauki looks to move away, Meyers throws a big counter combo bu Hauki just gets out of the way.

After the fight, Taneli Hauki was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
