Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Test Subject (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jalmari Pullo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Test Subject!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jalmari Pullo!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Chris Downing and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice takedown defense from Pullo. No joy for Subject on that attempt.
Subject shoots in for a double leg but Pullo sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Pullo closes the distance looking to clinch
and Subject cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Pullo.
Subject is not content to let Pullo control the position.
Subject wants to control but Pullo postures up.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Pullo misses with the ground and pound.
Subject is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Pullo's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.

Pullo scores with a nice shot to the head of his opponent. Subject is looking for a way out.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Subject's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Subject can't escape the position.
Pullo wants to control the pace but Subject is squirming around nicely.

Pullo postures up in Subject's guard and throws a big left but Subject blocks it.
Pullo is pushing down on Subject's leg trying to pass to half guard. Subject is fighting to maintain full guard but Pullo has managed to sneak the leg through.
Pullo passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Subject!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Subject is trying desperately to improve position.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Pullo lands a big shot there that rocks Subject but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

Jalmari Pullo showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Pullo drives through with a takedown into Subject's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Pullo chips away with some ground and pound.
Pullo loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Pullo slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Pullo has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Subject defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Pullo.
Subject is desperately trying to improve his position but Pullo has a good base and remains in mount.
Pullo has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Subject's face.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Subject tries to lock up and control but Pullo gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Subject bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

Pullo has his foot on Subject's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Subject works his way back into a safe position though.
Subject seems to have got his legs back now.

Subject has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Subject stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Pullo swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Test Subject has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
