Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Kareem Riggs (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jesse Walters (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jesse Walters has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kareem Riggs!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jesse Walters!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Robert Twigg and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Riggs fails in his attempt to clinch.
Walters changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.

Riggs gets caught flat footed, as Walters shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Riggs keeping moving, preventing Walters from controlling successfully.
Riggs is wriggling around but Walters manages to pass to half guard.

Walters decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Riggs misses with a takedown attempt - Walters sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Walters closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Riggs's guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Walters looking to pass the guard.
Walters throws a big elbow that misses.
Walters is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Walters wants to pass the guard but Riggs is keeping the position.

Walters decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Riggs, up you get!

Riggs forces Walters back against the cage and clinches.

Walters's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Walters gets a double leg takedown into Riggs's guard.
Walters looking to sit in guard and control but Riggs gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.


That's two minutes gone in the round.

Riggs stands up from guard. Let's bang!

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Riggs fails to pull guard.
Walters keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Riggs's efforts to push away.
Walters comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.


It looks like Kareem Riggs has been cut.
Riggs tries to pull guard but Walters holds him up against the cage and eventually Riggs drops back down to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kareem Riggs. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Riggs drops down looking for an ankle pick but Walters pulls his leg out and moves away.

Walters looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Riggs!

Walters works to advance to full mount. Riggs defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.

Walters stands up from mount. Strange move.
Walters tries a head kick but it misses.
Riggs tries to counter by clinching up but Walters breaks away and moves out of range.

Walters is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Riggs's half guard.
Riggs is trying to stand.
Walters passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Riggs!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Walters controlling from mount.
Walters's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jesse Walters dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Kareem Riggs's cut.
That's time! Back to the action!



Walters shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Riggs napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Riggs regains half guard there - taking advantage of Walters's attempt to lay and pray for a moment.
Walters moves into full mount! Riggs won't be happy about that!
Walters trying to control but Riggs is having none of it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Walters can't control as he wanted to and Riggs manages to get the fight back to his half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Well, if Walters is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Let's hope that Walters has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Walters wants to take a breather but Riggs is having none of it.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Riggs is looking to improve his position.
Walters stalling.
Walters throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Walters is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Riggs doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Walters.
Walters wants to take a breather but Riggs is having none of it.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Riggs looks like he's trying to stand up.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Walters fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Riggs sprawls well initially but Walters persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Walters decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
Walters throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Riggs tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Walters manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Walters thinks about the counter body kick.
Walters doesn't manage to clinch there - Riggs circles away.
Riggs appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
Walters tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Riggs enables Walters to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Riggs manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Walters stands and throws Riggs's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Walters decides to stand back up.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Walters closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Walters lands in his opponent's guard.

Walters stands up from guard. Let's bang!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jesse Walters showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

That's time! Back to the action! And we move into the final round!



Walters dives in and scores a takedown into Riggs's guard.
Walters looking to sit in guard and control but Riggs gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Walters controlling Riggs's posture.

Walters working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Riggs doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Riggs manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Riggs is pushing down on Walters's leg trying to pass to half guard. Walters is fighting to maintain full guard but Riggs has managed to sneak the leg through.
Jesse Walters has got the better of the ground game so far.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Riggs wants to stand up but Walters manages to regain full guard.
Riggs missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

Walters has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Riggs has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.

Riggs breaks the clinch.
Walters has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Walters moves in looking to clinch but Riggs pushes him off.
Walters throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Riggs really is a fat lump.
Riggs avoids a kick to the body.

Walters shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Walters was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Walters decides to take the fight back to the feet.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Riggs showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Walters.

Walters scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Walters takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Walters throws an elbow but Riggs slips to the side and avoids it well.
Riggs is not content to let Walters control the position.
Riggs is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Riggs manages to work his way to half guard, despite Walters's best efforts.
Walters keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
Riggs pushes Walters off looking to stand but Walters dives back in and keeps control.

Walters escapes and gets back to his feet.
Riggs throws a sloppy head kick and Walters moves out of range easily.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Walters forces Riggs back against the cage and clinches.
Riggs goes for a takedown attempt but Walters pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Riggs tries to close the distance and clinch up but Walters swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Riggs gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Riggs keeping full guard, as Walters tries to pass.

Walters decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Riggs, up you get!
Kareem Riggs has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Jesse Walters is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Walters drives through and clinches with Riggs against the cage.

And that's the end of the fight!
Jesse Walters comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Walters has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
