Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Aaron Hansen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Keith Masters (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Masters is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: hall of fame. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Aaron Hansen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Keith Masters!
The judges for this bout are Chris Dean, Steve Erwin and Ben Watson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Masters looks to land a body kick but Hansen moved away.
Hansen fails in his attempt to clinch.

Masters shoots in and bounces Hansen off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Hansen working a defensive guard here.
Masters has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Hansen is proving hard to escape from.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Masters stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hansen swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Masters is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Masters stays in close to Hansen's body and controls the position.

Masters closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Masters lands in his opponent's guard.
Masters is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Masters wants to pass the guard but Hansen is keeping the position.

Hansen seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Hansen is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Hansen will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Hansen really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Hansen gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Hansen is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Masters is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Masters won't allow Hansen to sweep him here.

Masters tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Masters has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

And Masters tries to counter it with a takedown but Hansen pushes his down on his head and steps out.

Hansen's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Masters got a little sloppy there for a moment and Hansen has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Masters has managed to get both his arms back between Hansen's legs - danger averted.

Well Masters has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
