Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Reginald Monroe!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Will Hannon!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Steve Smith and Trevor Gratis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Monroe shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Hannon pinned against the cage. Hannon gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Hannon throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Monroe.

Hannon shoots in and bounces Monroe off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Hannon working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Hannon gets to his feet - Monroe follows without any prompting.

Hannon shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Hannon showed some decent athleticism there.

Hannon seems to be looking for submissions.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Monroe is not content to let Hannon control the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Monroe wants to improve his position but Hannon is controlling well.
Hannon is keen to just control but Monroe is a slippery customer.
Hannon is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Monroe is trying to stand back up but Hannon is controlling him
Hannon uses his free foot to push down on Monroe's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Monroe.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Hannon content just to control the position here.
Monroe tries to hold on but Hannon pushes him away.
Hannon lands a couple of good shots and Monroe has given up his back, trying to escape the position!
Monroe wants to control his opponent's hands but Hannon gets his hands free.
Monroe is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Hannon.
Let's hope that Hannon has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Hannon lands an elbow to the side of the head.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Monroe is trying to get back to his feet. He's worked up on to his knees and now he's on his feet with his head on the canvas, trying to shake Hannon off. It looks like it's working - Hannon slides off, much to his dismay, and we're back to standing! Monroe displaying calm under pressure there.
Hannon throws a head kick that misses.
Monroe is looking to counter the offense by Hannon and move into the clinch.
Monroe tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Hannon swivels and escapes.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Monroe enables Hannon to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Monroe manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Monroe wants to improve his position but instead Hannon has moved into half guard.
Hannon content to control rather than advance.

Hannon is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Monroe doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Hannon.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Monroe is looking for a sweep. Hannon is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Hannon is thwarting Monroe's attempts to control the position.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Hannon slows the pace down in half guard.
Hannon is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Monroe!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Will Hannon dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!



Monroe gets caught napping as Hannon dives in and scores a takedown. Monroe manages to retain guard.
Hannon wants to pass the guard but Monroe is keeping the position.

Monroe has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Hannon off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

Hannon closes the distance and pushes Monroe back into the cage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Monroe tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Hannon smiles and moves away.

Hannon closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Hannon wants to lay and pray for a moment but Monroe keeps working.
Hannon controlling the pace.
Monroe is concentrating on defense, preventing Hannon from advancing position.
Monroe wants to get back to his feet.
Monroe misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Hannon content to control rather than advance.
Hannon has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Monroe tries to kick Hannon off but Hannon keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Monroe avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Hannon.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Hannon throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Monroe counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Hannon stuffs the takedown.

Monroe tries to keep at a distance but Hannon has taken the fight into the clinch.

Monroe manages to break the clinch.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Hannon!


It looks like Reginald Monroe has been cut.
Reginald Monroe is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Hannon tries a head kick but it misses.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Hannon lands an uppercut out of nowhere! Monroe falls backwards - clearly groggy! Hannon dives in and finishes the fight with more strikes for a TKO finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:09 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Will Hannon!
