Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Coleman Skinner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack Phayattakorn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Phayattakorn has chosen คาราบาว นัก$ as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Jack Phayattakorn!
The judges for this bout are James Glass, Phil Schofield and Colin Fotheringham.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Skinner shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Phayattakorn is trying to defend but Skinner finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Skinner controlling the action here.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Skinner gets to his feet - back to striking we go!
Skinner takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.

Skinner looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Phayattakorn gets a double leg takedown into Skinner's guard.
Phayattakorn is fighting to break Skinner's control of his arms but Skinner is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Skinner is looking to control Phayattakorn's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Skinner avoid being mounted?
Phayattakorn is keen to just control but Skinner is a slippery customer.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Skinner shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Phayattakorn's guard.

Skinner seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Phayattakorn for as long as he can get away with.

That was a close round but I would say that Coleman Skinner will probably get the nod.

Phayattakorn feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Skinner has his foot on Phayattakorn's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Phayattakorn works his way back into a safe position though.

Skinner is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Phayattakorn is aware though and is defending well.

Phayattakorn wants to control from the top but Skinner keeps moving.
Skinner lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Skinner tries to score a power double leg takedown but Phayattakorn sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Skinner somewhat.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!


Phayattakorn lands a two punch combo.
Skinner really is a fat lump.
Skinner tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Phayattakorn defends well and Skinner ends up having to push Phayattakorn into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Phayattakorn closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Skinner did well to prevent Phayattakorn getting side control.
Skinner might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Skinner in particular looking to stall.

Skinner stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Phayattakorn to get to his feet.

Skinner tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Skinner stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet.
Skinner shoots for a double leg takedown but Phayattakorn sprawls well. He's pushed Skinner's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Skinner closes the distance and clinches.
Phayattakorn is trying to break free.
Skinner tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Phayattakorn just stands there and leans against the cage.

Skinner is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Phayattakorn can't fight it off and eventually Skinner manages to take the fight to the floor. Phayattakorn looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Skinner, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
