Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jake Vos!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 1, fighting out of New York, Odell Paquette!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Shirou Masuda and Sosuke Kotani.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Paquette throws a right hand that misses
and Vos counters with a stiff right hand.
Paquette lands a lovely overhand right.
Vos tries to clinch up but Paquette circles away and keeps his distance.
Vos misses the jab.
Paquette misses with a jab to the body
and Vos counters with a straight right hand.
Paquette scores with a one two! Vos had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
We've been hearing reports that Vos has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.

Vos displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Paquette throws out the jab.

Paquette throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Vos darts in looking for a takedown but Paquette gets double underhooks and turns Vos into the cage.
Paquette lands a really nice looking cross but Vos seems unphased.
Paquette fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Vos fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jake Vos. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Vos tries to clinch up but Paquette circles away and keeps his distance.
Paquette throws out a counter right but Vos avoids it with no problem.
Paquette looks to score with a jab to the body but Vos is just out of range.
Paquette throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
A quick step to the side and Vos tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Vos shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Paquette sprawls well. Paquette wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Vos gets slowly back to his feet.

Paquette shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Vos eats them both and turns towards Paquette to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

Paquette leaves Vos with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Paquette wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Vos tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Paquette lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Paquette has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Vos lands with a cross.
Vos has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.

Vos tries to close the distance and clinch up but Paquette swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Oh Vos is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Paquette lands a hook that stumbles Vos back into the cage. Paquette follows up with a straight and another hook that land right on the button, dropping Vos to the canvas! Paquette pounces and lands several unanswered shots - Vos has had enough and taps out! This one is all over!
