Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between James Abramson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vladmir Chekov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for James Abramson has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, James Abramson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Vladmir Chekov!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Abramson lands a left and a right that send Chekov crashing to the mat, dazed. Abramson thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!


It looks like Vladmir Chekov has been cut.

Chekov moves into range and clinches up with Abramson.

Chekov jumps guard and drags Abramson to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Chekov lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Chekov is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Abramson throws a nice looking combination but Chekov bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Chekov tries to counter with a clinch but Abramson shakes him off and moves away.
Chekov shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Abramson but Abramson pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Abramson is pushing down on Chekov's leg trying to pass to half guard. Chekov is fighting to maintain full guard but Abramson has managed to sneak the leg through.
Abramson is keen to just control but Chekov is a slippery customer.
Chekov misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Abramson seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Chekov does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Abramson shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Chekov defends it nicely.
A head kick from Abramson lands but Chekov takes it in his stride.

Abramson might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Chekov is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
