PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Blokada Leningrada (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Julian Reis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Leningrada comes to the cage accompanied by Farewell of Slavyanka. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Reis closes the distance and clinches up with Leningrada, looking for a takedown. Reis pushes Leningrada against the cage but Leningrada circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Leningrada displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Reis.
It looked like Leningrada was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Reis.
Reis shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Leningrada sprawls well. Leningrada wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Reis gets slowly back to his feet.

Reis jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Leningrada walks away with a smile on his face. Reis gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Reis shoots for a double leg takedown but Leningrada sprawls well. He's pushed Reis's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Reis gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Leningrada stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Reis swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Leningrada keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Reis's head.

Reis is looking for a triangle here but Leningrada uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.

Leningrada decides to stand back up. Leningrada steps back and let's Reis get back to his feet.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Reis closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Leningrada's guard.

Reis has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Leningrada can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Leningrada slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Reis changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Leningrada tries to avoid it but Reis manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Leningrada to the ground. Leningrada escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Reis feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
