Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Federico Manta (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Glen Starner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Manta comes to the cage accompanied by Ultima Corsa by Mondo Marcio. Starner is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Guano Apes - Open your eyes. Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 31 - 17 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Glen Starner!
The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Shigeki Fujiwara and Ren Mimura.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Manta misses with a hook.
Starner changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Starner looks to score with a jab to the body but Manta is just out of range.
Starner takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Manta turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.

It looks like Federico Manta has been cut.
Manta lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Manta swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Starner.

Manta is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Starner.

Starner takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Starner looks to land a left hand but Manta moved out of range nicely.

Starner tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Manta was well out of range. Poor timing from Starner.

Manta lands a big head kick that sends Starner tumbling to the mat! Manta takes a step backwards and waves Starner back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Starner misses with a jab, cross combination.
Starner's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.
Manta does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Manta lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.

Good leg kick by Manta there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

Manta uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Starner.
Manta throws a leg kick which misses Starner's front leg but catches the back leg as Starner tries to avoid it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Both these guys seem content to just stand up and trade with eachother but Starner might want to think about changing up his gameplan a bit because over the course of the fight, Manta has got the better of the exchanges.

Starner sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Manta's guard.

Starner is looking for a kimura but Manta is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Starner to get the leverage.

Manta is looking for a sweep. Starner is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Starner looking to sit in guard and control but Manta gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Starner is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Manta defends well.
Starner manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Manta manages to get himself to full guard.

Starner sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Federico Manta.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Manta, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
