Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Matt Walker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jean Paul Leblanc (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Walker comes to the cage accompanied by Bad Motherfucker. Jean Paul Leblanc has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Matt Walker!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jean Paul Leblanc!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Robert Douchet and Trevor Gratis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Leblanc dives in and grabs Walker's left leg, looking for a takedown. Walker pushes down on Leblanc's head and hops out.

Walker moves into range and clinches up with Leblanc.

Walker manages to pull guard.
Leblanc trying to control the position from guard on top but Walker is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Leblanc drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Leblanc jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Walker is trying to keep Leblanc in close.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Leblanc stopping the sweep attempt from Walker.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Leblanc is looking to pass into half guard but Walker pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Walker is in guard.

Leblanc is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Leblanc throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Walker has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Leblanc wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Walker is now in half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Leblanc is trying to control but can't.
Walker content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Leblanc is looking to control Walker's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Leblanc avoid being mounted?
Walker is taking a breather. Leblanc says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Walker is looking to take a break and control but Leblanc is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Walker is figuring out what he wants to do next.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Walker prevents Leblanc from improving his position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Walker gets a clinch.
Walker changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Leblanc fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Leblanc gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Walker is breathing heavily.
Walker trying to control but Leblanc is working from the bottom.

Leblanc controls Walker momentarily but Walker frees himself.

Leblanc has his foot on Walker's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Walker works his way back into a safe position though.
Leblanc not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Walker tries to stand but Leblanc is controlling from the bottom.
Walker wants to control from the top but Leblanc keeps moving.
Walker throws a big elbow that misses.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Walker engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Matt Walker dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Leblanc fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Walker avoids it really well and circles away.

Walker fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Leblanc sprawls well initially but Walker persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Walker wants to pass to mount but Leblanc is defending the position.
Walker trying to advance position but Leblanc counters by regaining guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Leblanc wants to sweep here but Walker controlling him for the moment.

Leblanc is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Walker rolls with it to try and escape but Leblanc cranks on the arm and Walker is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
