Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Owen Whipple (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kevin MacDonald (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kevin MacDonald is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Whipple stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Whipple wants it to stay on the feet.

MacDonald closes the distance and pushes Whipple back into the cage.
The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.
Whipple is trying to stall.
MacDonald drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Whipple gets the underhooks and prevents it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

MacDonald is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Whipple can't fight it off and eventually MacDonald manages to take the fight to the floor. Whipple looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Whipple really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
MacDonald's corner is telling him to maintain position.

Whipple is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! MacDonald has his hands clasped together but Whipple extends and breaks MacDonald's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Whipple.

Owen Whipple decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
