Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Felipe Barros!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Will Hannon!
The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Edson Gomes and Paulo Santos.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hannon takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.


It looks like Will Hannon has been cut.
Barros takes a swing at Hannon's ribcage but misses.

Hannon instigates a clinch.

Hannon decides to pull guard.

Hannon pushes Barros off and scrambles back to his feet.
Barros moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Barros throws a head kick that misses.

Hannon scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Hannon decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Hannon smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Hannon connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Hannon keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Hannon lands a really nice looking cross but Barros seems unphased.
Barros definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Barros throws the kick towards the body but Hannon avoids it.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Hannon closes the distance and clinches.
Barros softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage.
Barros throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Hannon blocks it with crossed arms.
Hannon lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.

Hannon is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Barros can't fight it off and eventually Hannon manages to take the fight to the floor. Barros looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Barros keeping moving, preventing Hannon from controlling successfully.
Hannon throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

Hannon is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Hannon trying to control the position from guard on top but Barros is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Barros is trying to keep Hannon in close.
Barros keeping moving, preventing Hannon from controlling successfully.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Barros is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Hannon shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Hannon controlling the action here.
Hannon is trying to control. Barros wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Barros is looking to control Hannon's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Barros avoid being mounted?
Barros is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Hannon lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Hannon trying to pass the guard but Barros defending well.
Hannon seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Barros is trying to control but Hannon passes into side control!
You can see the frustration on Barros's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Will Hannon dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Will Hannon's cut.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Barros throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.
Barros ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Hannon moves away.
Hannon throws a leg kick but Barros sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Barros connects with a body shot.

Hannon feints and as Barros raises his hands in defense, Hannon changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Hannon controls from within his opponent's guard.
Barros controls Hannon momentarily but Hannon frees himself.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Barros is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Hannon rolls with it to try and escape but Barros cranks on the arm and Hannon is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:55 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Felipe Barros!
