Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Myles O Donnell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brenden Abbott (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). O Donnell comes to the cage accompanied by Anti by Mayhem. Brenden Abbott has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 25 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Myles O Donnell!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 34 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Brenden Abbott!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Dillan Fox and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Abbott throws an uppercut from half a mile away. O Donnell sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Abbott with a jab.
O Donnell uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
O Donnell throws a right and a left that both miss.
O Donnell misses with an uppercut. Abbott saw that one coming.
Abbott keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Abbott goes for a double leg but O Donnell avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as O Donnell continues to drive forward.
Abbott is looking to chop away at O Donnell's legs.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

A little jabbing left from Abbott on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Abbott throws a combination but it was largely blocked by O Donnell.
Abbott throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around O Donnell's waist but O Donnell gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Abbott off to one side.

O Donnell swings for the body but Abbott moves out of range.
Abbott lunges at O Donnell with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by O Donnell's hand.

Myles O Donnell has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Brenden Abbott.

Myles O Donnell seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
O Donnell tries to clinch up but Abbott circles away and keeps his distance.

That was a close round but I would say that Myles O Donnell will probably get the nod.

It looks like O Donnell has been trying to sharpen up his punching technique, as it looks crisper than last time we saw him.

Abbott with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling O Donnell to score with a decent uppercut.
Abbott dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on O Donnell. That did some damage!

Abbott ducks down and throws a hook to the body but O Donnell moves away.
O Donnell wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.
Abbott lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Abbott shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. O Donnell is trying to defend but Abbott finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
